What is T-Level Science?
 

T-Levels are two-year technical qualifications developed in partnership with employers to help you gain the skills and experience needed in the workplace. The T-Level Science course is designed for students who want to pursue a career in the science or healthcare sectors.

This course combines:

  • Specialist technical knowledge and skills related to science-based roles
  • An industry placement lasting at least 45 days to gain real-world experience
  • Relevant maths, English and digital skills to support your future progression

T-Levels offer a strong alternative to A-Levels or apprenticeships, helping you move confidently into skilled employment, higher apprenticeships or university.

What Will You Study on the Science T-Level?

The Science T-Level programme begins with core knowledge and skills essential for working in science or healthcare. You’ll explore how the sector operates and gain an understanding of key scientific concepts. Also, you’ll learn about important regulations that guide professional practice.

You’ll cover topics such as:

Which Exam Board Will I Study With?

What are the Entry Requirements for T-Level Science?

To join this course, you’ll need:

  • At least two GCSEs at grade 5 and
  • Three GCSEs at grade 4 or above

This must include:

  • Grade 5 in English Language
  • Grade 5 in Maths
  • Grade 5 in Science

These grades will help you manage the scientific and technical demands of the course.
