What is T-Level Management and Administration (Business)?

The T-Level Management and Administration course helps you build essential skills for a career in business support and leadership. You will work towards a Level 3 Technical Qualification in Management and Administration, with a specialist focus on Business Support.

Throughout the course, you will develop your understanding of:

  • Organisational cultures and values
  • The importance of professional business behaviour
  • Quality standards and compliance in the workplace

Alongside classroom learning, you will complete an industry placement within a management or administration setting. This will involve a mix of weekly day release and block placements, giving you hands-on experience and helping you apply what you learn in real business environments.

By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to step confidently into the world of work or move on to further study.

What Will You Study on the Management and Administration T-Level?

In Year 1, you will focus on building core knowledge needed for the management and administration sector, including:

  • Business behaviours
  • Business and commercial awareness
  • Problem-solving
  • Finance
  • Quality compliance
  • Project and change management
  • Undertaking research

You will also take part in employability and enrichment activities designed to strengthen your skills and prepare you for the world of work.

In Year 2, you will move on to your occupational specialism in Business Support, where you will focus on:

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of an organisation
  • Applying core knowledge to practical business situations
  • Developing the skills needed to work confidently and effectively in a management and administration environment

This final year aims to equip you with the experience and understanding needed to move straight into skilled employment or further study.

What's Next after Completing the T-Level in Management and Administration (Business)?

After completing your Management and Administration T-Level, there are three main progression routes you can follow:

Skilled employment within the business management and administration sector, in roles such as:

  • Business Administrator
  • Team Leader
  • Supervisor

Higher Level Apprenticeships at Level 4 or above, leading to careers such as:

  • Senior Business Administrator
  • Office Manager
  • Business Manager

Higher Education, as T-Levels now carry UCAS points, allowing you to apply for a range of university courses and higher education pathways

This T-Level gives you the flexibility to move straight into the workplace, continue with further training, or progress to university, depending on your goals.

The T-Level Management and Administration course is awarded by City & Guilds, a leading name in vocational and technical education. 

What are the Entry Requirements for T-Level Management and Administration (Business)?

To enrol on this course, you will need:

  • At least two GCSEs at grade 5 or above and
  • At least three GCSEs at grade 4 or above
  • A minimum of a grade 5 in English Language
  • A minimum of a grade 5 in Maths

These entry requirements ensure you have the strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills needed to succeed in the management and administration sector.
