Students studying Art and Design at Cardinal Newman have been given the unique opportunity to display their work in an exhibition held at UCLan University.
‘A Sense of Place’ is an exhibition of work chosen by Maeve Rendle, BA Hons Fine Art Lecturer at UCLan, who also curated the exhibition. The exhibition showcases the diverse range of disciplines employed throughout their studies at Cardinal Newman, and ‘the ways in which the fabric of the city influences and informs their creative decisions.’
On Thursday 8th February, students were able to visit the Hanover Project, which is where their work is displayed, to see the exhibition for themselves. Head of Art and Design at Newman, Aimee Lawrenson said: “It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to be involved in and all were delighted to see their work in a such a professional setting.”
This is set to be the first exhibition in an ongoing collaboration between Cardinal Newman and UCLan, which will enable our students to gain professional experience as well as the amazing opportunity to view their work in new surroundings.
