Team Building at Rock and River
It has been a great start to the new term and to College life for BTEC Sport students, who went on a trip to Rock and River at the beginning of October.
62 students, who are in their first year of study on the BTEC Sport course at Cardinal Newman, got the chance to take part in a host of activities at the outdoor pursuits centre.
Trips to Rock and River are all about trying something new, gaining confidence and learning from new experiences, which the group were definitely able to do.
The students participated in Canadian Canoeing, Kayaking, Raft Building, Abseiling and a leap of faith, allowing them to develop their team building and communication skills, whilst also learning more about the outdoor education sector β not to mention having a great time too!
Sport Teacher, Jude Chapman said: βIt is a great chance for our new year 12 students to bond with each other and form great friendships at the start of term, as well as learn a lot about working as part of a team!β
