At Cardinal Newman College, we believe that parents/guardians play an important role in students’ success. We ensure that parents are kept up to date with their child’s progress through progress reports which are visible on CEDAR which is where you will find any important information for parents. Progress reports are issued following each College Assessment Point (CAP) and show a target grade, CAP result, effort grade and the teachers predicted grade for each subject. CAPs are a significant formal assessment used to track and monitor the progress of students. We view College as a stepping stone between school and university, or the wider world of work, so we endeavour to resolve any concerns with the student directly, however, we will, of course, contact parents if we feel it is necessary. You can also arrange to speak to or meet with your child’s Achievement Tutor, Senior Tutor or subject teachers at any time if you have any concerns about your child.

Attendance data and timetables (including exam timetables) are available to you by signing in to CEDAR. You should have received details along with your username and password in September. If you have lost or not received your details you can contact us to request details to be re-sent.
