Cardinal Newman College employ professionally trained careers advisers who have extensive experience supporting young people into Higher Education and employment/apprenticeships.

The team follow a professional code of conduct, and are working towards Inspiring IAG accreditation, ensuring all students receive impartial and confidential support.
If you are unsure about your career pathway or confused about which university course to do or what your progression options are, then a 1-1 appointment may suit you. All sessions are confidential and the information is only shared between advisers and the student.

All students have access to the Careers MOODLE page which contains useful information, links and resources to support with career/progression planning.
All full time students have access to a programme of careers education tutorials throughout their time at Cardinal Newman. Careers staff work closely with pastoral staff to plan careers sessions that include a diverse range of topics relating to careers and employability.

National Careers benchmarks (Gatsby)
Cardinal Newman value the importance of careers guidance for young people and work within the Gatsby benchmarks framework to ensure good practice.
The careers team provide advice and guidance on higher education programmes including honours degrees, foundation degrees and post graduate opportunities.
Through the tutorial programme they provide support on a range of higher education topics including researching courses, writing an effective personal statement, student loans, UCAS Apply/Track.
The careers team also support learners who are studying Higher Education programmes at Cardinal Newman.
It is important that students need to be informed about Labour Market trends in order to make informed decisions when planning their future career. Local and national information is available to help them explore and make decisions about their future.
