Amazing Charity Total for Newman!

As a Catholic College, Cardinal Newman aims to embody the values and ethos of the Catholic faith and as a community we aim to live out the Gospel values of service and love. This ethos is most evident through the College’s commitment to charity work. Not a day goes by at Newman without some form of fundraising efforts being made, these include things as diverse as the Mary’s Meals ‘Backpack Project’ where students have donated items, including the backpack’s themselves, that will aid pupils in impoverished countries to attend school with all the equipment that they need to learn.

We also have a number of groups across the College who undertake their own fundraising activities throughout the academic year, such as the Islamic Relief Group, who have raised a grand total of £2,083.67 this academic year for a range of causes and through a variety of different activities. We also had a whopping total from the Business Studies Department, where our Level 3 BTEC students raised £1,988 for MacMillan Cancer Support.

As a collective, the College has raised a phenomenal total of £15,472.45 and counting this academic year! With such a fantastic total for the year, we are excited to see what the next academic year has to bring and hope that our efforts can continue to help people who need it all around the world.
