“I have always had a strong interest in engineering and enjoyed studying subjects that challenged me to think logically and solve problems. While completing my A-Levels in Maths and Physics, I developed a particular appreciation for how engineering principles are applied in real-world situations.
My interest in the sector grew even further when I completed work experience at Springfields. During my placement, I gained a valuable insight into the nuclear industry and learnt more about the important role nuclear energy plays in providing low-carbon, reliable power. Seeing the scale of the work being undertaken and speaking to industry professionals helped me realise that this was a field I wanted to build a career in.
Following my experience, I decided to apply for the Rolls-Royce Degree Apprenticeship. The application process was both challenging and rewarding, involving an initial application, online assessments, and an interview day. Each stage pushed me to demonstrate my skills, motivation, and enthusiasm for engineering.
Receiving confirmation today that I have successfully secured a place on the programme is an achievement I am incredibly proud of. I am excited to begin the next stage of my career, continue developing my technical knowledge, and contribute to the future of the nuclear industry.”
