Winning Taylor Patterson Artist Announced!
Each year our BTEC Art and Design students are given the opportunity to enter a competition to create an interesting or lively piece of work to be displayed in the offices of Taylor Patterson. Year 13 BTEC Art & Design student Henry Crompton has been announced as the winner of the company’s annual art competition.
Run in conjunction with Cardinal Newman, the local Financial Advisory Firm, offer students the chance to create a piece of artwork set to a live brief, which if they win will be displayed in their Winckley Square offices. The live brief competition was based around the theme of “My Surroundings” with students creating artwork that had been influenced by architecture within the surrounding area. Students worked with a variety of techniques and processes to create some truly outstanding pieces.
Henry’s artwork was a collection of six smaller pieces mounted to create one larger piece and was voted as the favourite artwork by the staff at Taylor Patterson.
Aimee Lawrenson, Head of Art & Design said: “We are really proud of all of the work that our students produced for this competition. Students used a variety of different techniques and processes, including painting, drawing, printmaking and edited photography. Congratulations to Henry on an excellent winning piece!”
