There are many employment opportunities for those that successfully achieve a Foundation Degree in Early Years or Teaching and Learning Support (which are both sector endorsed) can progress to achieve Early Years’ Professional Status. This means you will meet the Government target of ensuring each Early Years setting as a graduate leader.
The nature of Foundation Degrees means that they have a strong emphasis on work-based learning. This makes a graduate recruit attractive to an employer as you will have insight and preparation for the world of work and can apply the necessary skills immediately.
As part of your course, you will receive advice from specialist practitioners, from industries such as:
– Child Psychologist
– Forest Schools
The training lasts for one academic year and leads to the qualification of a PGCE with full QTS. You will also have the opportunity to gain credits towards a Master’s qualification. The qualification awarded is a secondary PGCE meaning upon successful completion you will be able to apply for jobs working in both colleges and secondary schools.
