TES Awards Sixth Form College of the Year

Cardinal Newman College is delighted to have been shortlisted for Sixth Form College of the Year by the TES in their annual FE Awards. The TES Awards, which are in association with the AOC, celebrate colleges across the board in a variety of categories from Teacher of the Year to Apprenticeship Provider of the Year.

Cardinal Newman College has been shortlisted as one of only eight from over 90 Sixth Form Colleges across the country for the 2019 awards. The awards are aimed at celebrating the most outstanding individuals and institutions that the FE sector has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the 2019 TES FE Awards.

TES FE editor Stephen Exley said: “Excellent practice exists right across the further education sector, and those shortlisted for the TES FE Awards are the cream of the crop. Our judges were extremely impressed with the calibre of entries. We had more entries for this year’s categories than ever before, and the standard was higher than ever. To be shortlisted is an extraordinary achievement.”

Principal Nick Burnham says: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the category for Sixth Form College of the Year. Sixth Form College’s as a whole are an outstanding area of the education sector, so we have some strong competition, but it is an honour and an achievement to just be shortlisted. It is a credit to our staff and students and all of their hard work has been recognised by this shortlisting – well done one and all!”
