T-Level Employers

The success of our T-Level courses is highly dependant on the work placement element of the course. It is critical to the success of the T-Level courses as it gives students the opportunity to gain skills specific to their subject or industry of choice, as well as the employability skills required for real-life work. It also ensures their knowledge is developed and addresses any skill gaps.

“One of the main benefits for our company was the freeing up of our teams time. The student undertook general admin tasks which allowed us to concentrate on bigger pieces of work. We also set out some research pieces which we required to support the Sales and Marketing planning and strategies for the coming months.

One piece of work the student completed for our Sales team was to create a database of North West education settings, split between areas and provide some factual information that was taken from the government website. Although a mundane task, our team have since utilised the data and it has formed part of the Sales and Marketing strategy for Q2 2022. The data which was collated and separated out was a large piece of work to undertake and our team simply had never had the time to sit and collate this. This piece of work alone has set our team up for targeting future success.

Collinson strives to ensure, where we can, we give back to our local communities, therefore by taking a student on placement with us we were able to support this key value of the business.  Within the construction industry, there is a particular lack of skilled workers, therefore it is imperative we support students coming through education by introducing them to the industries we work in and providing them with insight into the different job opportunities there are to be had within our workplaces.

I would recommend using Newman for industry placements as they ensured the process was non-time consuming with the onboarding of the student. They also have a key contact within the college who visits the student in the workplace. This really benefited the student as they quickly started to see the benefits the work placement was having on their study days in the college setting. CNC organised everything, from the student arriving at the office, document control, through to the completion of the work placement. The student who attended our office was polite, well dressed, keen to learn and very proud to be included as part of our team. I think it is important for any companies who have to capacity to support, to get on board with providing students with placements in their business to ensure we provide them with the knowledge and insight to help with creating our industry leaders of the future.”
