Start of Term for New Year 12s

Congratulations if you have already enrolled at Cardinal Newman!  You are now ready to start and your first day at the College will be on Wednesday 2nd September 2020.

You will be following our all new blended learning timetable, which will see you attend College two days per week, physically attending lessons and the remainder of the week will be spent attending your lessons virtually from home, using our tried and tested system via Microsoft Teams.

New Blended Learning Timetable >

Your individual timetable will be available to view online via CEDAR from Tuesday 1st September and you will start on Wednesday 2nd September, following your Monday lessons (for the first week only). You will then be in College again on Thursday 3rd September and then Friday 4th September will be an online learning day.

You should now have received your College ID badge through the post, if not it should be with you soon. If you don’t receive your ID card then we will sort this once you are at the College. You will receive your College lanyard during your first lesson, for you to fix your ID card into. Please ensure that you bring your ID card with you on your first day so you are able to gain access to the College.

We want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure that your return to College is safe and successful, so as well as the new timetable we have put some measures in place to protect all of the College community. Just some of these measures include, one-way systems through College, social distancing within social areas and hand sanitising stations throughout.

In terms of getting to College, again we want to ensure that you can do so as safely as possible. We know that many of our students rely on public transport to get you to us, so our new later and staggered start/end times will ease the congestion on the buses both in the morning and going home. Also, as you will only be attending College for two days per week it will be more economical to simply purchase a daily pass on the bus for your travel than it would be to buy a termly pass. We will continue to review this as time passes and if anything changes. For more information on transport please click here >

Further information will be sent out to students via email very soon.
