Shop Small
An Art student from Cardinal Newman has been invited to become part of a project to promote small businesses.
Polly Mellor-Bates, who is studying the Art Foundation Degree at Newman, was approached by a graphic designer, who invited her to collaborate on the project, after seeing some of her work on Instagram.
Polly had only been showcasing her artwork on Instagram for a couple of months, so was both delighted and surprised when she was contacted by the graphic design agency.
The project aims to “showcase the beauty of shopping small.” The campaign will last for 21 days with all the designs having been contributed by 25 artists with small businesses. The proceeds will be split between all of the collaborators, which will go towards supporting all 25 of the small art businesses, which have all been impacted by the current state of lockdown.
