The Transition Programme is a one-year study programme that is designed to embed alongside a Maths or English GCSE resit, whilst providing the opportunity to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto and success on a level 3 programme.
Included within your study programme, you will conduct work experience within industry specific settings, aiming to support your confidence, personal and professional behaviours but importantly maximising your skills to present to future educational or employment pathways.
You will complete a Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Workforce which aims to help you develop the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles in children’s setting, including early years and social care.
Upon successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate for Children and Young People’s Workforce, you may progress onto the Education and Childcare T Level, BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care or another BTEC Level 3 course offered at the college.
At least three 3’s at GCSE, including at least a 4 in English Language or Maths.
NOTE: Completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service Application (DBS) is compulsory as gaining work experience with a range of vulnerable client groups is an essential requirement of this course.
