The Performing Arts BTEC course will introduce you to a broad range of theatrical styles and approaches to many aspects of performing. It will enrich your ability to develop and realise roles from published material. You will also work in groups to create your own performance material and develop your skills through practical workshops.
If you take the Extended Diploma, you will study 13 units and 8 units for the Diploma. You will take, along with some optional units, mandatory units in; Investigating Practitioners’ Work, Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance, Group Performance Workshop, Performing Arts in the Community, Individual Performance Commission, Final Live Performance to an Audience and (Extended Diploma only) Employment Opportunities in the Performing Arts.
Many of our students progress to study at conservatoires and drama schools. For instance, Trinity Laban, LIPA, Mountview or Guildford School of Music and Drama. Others study Performing Arts related degree courses or degrees combining Performing Arts with another subject.
At least five 4s at GCSE, including at least a grade 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths.
BTEC Foundation Diploma, this is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels specialising in Musical Theatre, Dance or Acting
BTEC Extended Diploma, this is equivalent to 3 A Levels
Film Studies, Media Studies, Art, English Literature, English Language, Dance, Music.
