Newman Festival | Get Set For September! | Friday 28th June 2019 | 10.00am - 1.30pm
If you’re interested in having an interesting and rewarding job in the digital industry, IT (Software Development) is the course for you. This course is designed to help you build up your skills by studying a wide range of technical units over two years. We aim to give you a strong understanding and knowledge of the principles which underpin modern technology, along with developing your analytical and problem solving skills.
Modules cover everything from learning how computers work and how they handle data, to project management, which is a major aspect of the IT and computing industry. You will also learn how to create a variety of compute
applications. As an example, current units include technology systems, animation, software development, information systems, project management, systems analysis and database development. This course is designed to help you to develop a well-rounded set of skills that you can put to use in a practical way.
Speaking of practical, you’ll also get real-world experience while you’re at Cardinal Newman. As well as working on projects in our modern facilities, you’ll also get to do a week’s work experience within the industry.
Many of our students go onto study at University and others go directly into employment. Several of our students have found employment as a direct result of the work experience they have completed. After studying for a degree, you could also go onto to do your Teacher Training here at Cardinal Newman, following in the footsteps of former BTEC IT students.
