Royal College of Biology Olympiad
Each year at Cardinal Newman we enter our most able Biology A Level students into the Royal Society of Biology Olympiad. The competition is open to schools and colleges, with the awards ranging from bronze, silver and gold awards to highly commended. Students are set questions which are designed to challenge and test their understanding of biological principles.
We are delighted to announce that 17 out of the 18 students who were entered were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals with one highly commended, which is an even more fantastic achievement as only 25% of the candidates entered to the competition are awarded these medals. Three of our students, Christine Agbenu, Elizabeth Daly and Jamie Tulloch were awarded the top accolade of a gold medal, putting them in the top 6% of all competitors.
Congratulations to all the competitors; Ben Eccleston, Katherine Garth, Julie Agbenu, Rachel Lewis, Georgia Maple, James Houston, Charlotte Sumner, Olivia Stupart, Kathleen Bowman, Claire Hargreaves, Carys Williams, Henry Bodle, Martha Allitt, Ele Clayton, Christine Agbenu, Elizabeth Daly and Jamie Tulloch!
