At the end of January around 250 students from across Cardinal Newman College took part in a study skills masterclass. Sessions were run throughout the day, with students from a range of different subject areas attending. The aim of the session was to promote effective revision techniques in preparation for exam season!
As an additional bonus, past Newman students also returned to college to discuss their own experiences of revision and shared some excellent, helpful revision strategies and ideas that worked for them during their A-Levels and now University too.
Students on the day said that they learnt a variety of new techniques and useful information, including the importance of the specification, that past papers are key, how to create a good revision environment, the importance of also having fun during exam season, different student friendly APPS and how to revise effectively in short, sharp blocks.
The students who attended the masterclass all found the experience to be beneficial and took away value and practical advice to help them maximise their own revision.
