Record Breaking Oxbridge Success!

This year has been a record breaking year, once again for Cardinal Newman students applying to Oxford and Cambridge, with a fantastic 20 students being offered places to study at the UK’s most prestigious Universities.

The students, who have all been part of the College’s HE* programme, have been given conditional offers to study a huge variety of subjects, ranging from Languages, to Human and Political Science to Medicine.

Cardinal Newman is the Cambridge University hub for Lancashire, which means that students from across the region who aspire to attend Oxford, Cambridge or any of the Russell Group Universities, can come to us for the best advice and guidance regarding the application process. This includes seminars with admissions tutors from Cambridge University, mock interviews as preparation for University admissions interviews, specific personal statement support, as well as a whole host of extras as part of the HE* programme, which is geared towards ensuring each student has the strongest profile and the best chances of being successful with their application.

Following the initiation of the HE* programme, the College has seen a steady increase in the number of students being offered places at both Oxford and Cambridge. This year’s excellent number, with 20 successful applications, makes it another record breaking year for the College!
