Princes Trust Digital Enterprise
Two of our students, Anna Welch (All Hallows High School) and Isabel Higginson (All Hallows High School), have successfully been selected for the penultimate round of the Princes Trust Digital Enterprise that consists of 20 groups from colleges across the country.
Before October half term, there was an announcement about the Princes Trust Digital Enterprise that ICT were participating in and running though enrichment. This was well received by students and we were delighted to announce that two of our students, Anna and Isabel, had fought off some tough competition to get through to the next stage and attended the Barclays’ Head Quarters in London on the weekend of 17th/18th January.
Anna and Isabel were part of 700 other entrants who were narrowed down to 100 successful teams for the BETA stage. The event they attended in London was to prepare them for the next stage, which is taking their idea further and to think about how the enterprise would make a profit as well as how they would spend the £2,500.
The girls have now been selected for this round which is an amazing achievement; they are now among the final 20 teams of the competition, and will be given a financial prize of £2,500 to turn their prototypes into a working example of their business idea. This stage is to get the teams to think about budgeting and research rather than just spending the money all at once.
In addition to the financial prize, each team will also get one-to-one mentor support for 6 weeks of the Live stage, and will be invited to attend an event at Telefonica Digital in London on 12th February where they will have the opportunity to meet their 1:1 mentor.
Well done girls and fingers crossed you make to the final stage of winning the £15000 prize!
