Prepartation for Nursing Practice
Each year, Health and Social Care students at Cardinal Newman who are interested in pursuing a career in Nursing are given the opportunity to apply for a special programme called Preparation for Nursing Practice (PNP).
Students can apply for the programme towards the end of their first year of study, with the programme running for the first term of their second year at College. The programme enables students to work ten shifts on the wards at Chorley Hospital as well as complete ten study sessions run at the Trust’s Education Centre.
Kathy Salisbury, Head of Health and Social Care said: “It gives students a real insight into what it is like to be a nurse and gives them invaluable experience which puts them in a great position when applying to university after College.”
