It’s been another successful year for Oxbridge offers at Cardinal Newman with 15 students receiving offers to study at one of these two prestigious institutions.
Of the offers made, 12 are at Cambridge University and three at Oxford with the subjects studied varying from Music to Medicine and Engineering to English! The offers add to a growing success for Oxbridge success for the College, with students at the College achieving 79 offers over the past five years.
This success is, in part, due to our prestigious HE+ scheme run in conjunction with Cambridge University, which gives the most academically able students the opportunity to receive specific support and guidance in making their applications, not just to Cambridge University, but to any of the Russell group universities.
As the only Cambridge University hub for Lancashire, we are perfectly placed for all those students across the North West who have aspirations of gaining places at prestigious universities or on competitive degree courses. The programme aims to engage students in a sustained year-long programme, including academic extension classes, subject masterclasses, information and guidance sessions and visits to the University.
HE+ is designed to stretch and inspire the UK’s most academically-able students, encouraging and preparing them to make competitive applications to top universities.
