If you want to work with computer-based technology, then Information and Creative Technology could be the right course for you. This course is designed to inspire and enthuse you to develop a good level of understanding of technology systems and their applications.
We will give you the knowledge and skills to gain a broad understanding of the Information and Creative Technology sector, along with the ability to identify an organisation’s business needs. You can use this course to create a pathway to a more specialised Level 3 vocational or academic computing course.
During your studies, you will look at The Online World, Digital Portfolio, Database Development, Technology Systems, Mobile App Development and Website Development. The focus is on improving your potential to enter employment in this dynamic area of Information and Creative Technology. We want to give you lots of opportunities to put what you’ve learnt into practice.
Most of our students will go on to study the BTEC IT Level 3 course at Cardinal Newman. Others might choose an apprenticeship or a junior job in the IT industry, including a Software Engineer, Website Content Manager, Computer Help Desk Support and Graphic Designer.
At least four 3s at GCSE, including at least a 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths.
