BTEC Subsidiary in Performing Arts

You can choose whether to specialise in Acting, Dance or Musical Theatre. You will develop a wide range of performance and vocational skills and will be
assessed on your practical skills and written coursework.

Acting
You will develop you physical and vocal skills for both scripted and devised material. You will also enhance your characterisation skills
and work with others to create material for public performances in the Newman Theatre. The units you study will cover a range of performance styles to improve your versatility as a performer.

Dance
This course will develop your choreographic and performance skills in a range of styles such as Contemporary and Jazz. You will
have the opportunity to perform to public audiences in the Newman Theatre.

Musical Theatre
You will develop your singing, dancing and acting skills through a range of exercises and will then apply them to material from the Musical Theatre repertoire. You will have the opportunity to perform to public audiences in the Newman Theatre.
