A Travel and Tourism BTEC qualification tells potential employers what well-developed skills/attributes you have. For example, research skills, excellent time management, that you are able to work in a team, and that you have the necessary ‘people’ skills to manage others effectively.
You will develop a range of skills required for a managerial career through a range of varied and interesting projects, tailored to match your interests and ambitions.
You will also have the opportunity to complete a relevant work placement, to use your newly acquired skills in an industry setting. A variety of trips will also be organised for you to see the industry in action.

As well as careers as Cabin Crew and Holiday Reps, Travel and Tourism can lead to a wide range of other careers in the areas of event & hospitality management, wedding planning, travel agencies, public relations, travel journalism and tourism marketing.
We are proud to have our students moving onto a wide range of jobs and higher education courses. The vast majority of our students’ destinations arise directly from the Travel and Tourism course they studied here at Cardinal Newman College. We believe in preparing our students for the future they want.
Approximately half of our students go on to jobs or apprenticeships and the other half go on to university. Here are some of the things our students have progressed to over the last few years:

BTEC Extended Certificate this is equivalent to 1 A-Level
BTEC Diploma, this is equivalent to 2 A-Levels
Business Studies, Modern Foreign Languages, English, Law and Geography.
