What is the Transition Programme – Children & Young People’s Workforce?

The Transition Programme is a one-year study programme that is designed to embed alongside a Maths or English GCSE resit, whilst providing the opportunity to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto and success on a level 3 programme.

Included within your study programme, you will conduct work experience within industry specific settings, aiming to support your confidence, personal and professional behaviours but importantly maximising your skills to present to future educational or employment pathways.

What Will You Study?

You will complete a Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Workforce which aims to help you develop the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles in children’s setting, including early years and social care.

  • Communication in health, social care or children’s and young people settings
  • Equality and inclusion
  • Support children and young people’s positive behaviour
  • Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
  • Contribute to the support of positive environments for children and young people
