What is Digital T-Level?

Digital T-Level courses are for students who wish to progress into skilled employment within the digital workforce or higher-level technical training or study.

We have on offer two Digital T-Levels:

  • Digital Business Services
  • Digital Support Services

You will complete a Level 3 Technical Qualification in Digital and an occupational specialism related to your T Level. Included alongside the technical qualification is the completion of an Employer Set Project and an Industrial Placement within a Digital environment.

Digital T-Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers so the content meets the needs of industry, preparing you for the workplace. There will be a mixture of classroom-based teaching and learning and ‘on-the-job’ learning as the course involves at least 315 hours (approximately 45 days) of Industrial Placement.

Each Digital T-Level covers the same core content in Year 12 which includes:

  • Business Context
  • Culture
  • Data
  • Digital Analysis
  • Digital Environments
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Learning
  • Legislation
  • Planning
  • Security
  • Testing
  • Tools

This is supported by a package of employability and enrichment opportunities to strengthen the core knowledge, skills and behaviours developed during your studies.

In Year 13 you follow your Occupational Specialism, according to the Digital T Level route you have chosen.

The Digital T Level routes we have on offer are:

1. Digital Business Services

What Will You Study?

In addition to the core content, you will also study

  • Sourcing, organising, blending and formatting data securely for analysis
  • Analysis of structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes
  • Interpreting and communicating results of data analysis in appropriate formats

You will develop a wide range of practical skills, particularly with spreadsheets and databases, both in the classroom and on placement.

2. Digital Support Services

What Will You Study?

In addition to the core content you will also study:

  • Careers within the digital support services sector
  • Communication in digital support services
  • Fault analysis and problem resolution

Entry Requirements

At least two 5s and three 4s at GCSE including at least a 4 in English Language and Maths.
NOTE: Completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service Application (DBS) may be required as you may undertake placements in a digital setting that engage with vulnerable people.

What Next?

There are some main progression routes following the completion of T-Levels. Following the completion of the T-level in Digital, you may go on to:

Skilled employment within the Digital Industry – sourcing, formatting and presenting data

Higher Level apprenticeships at Level 4 and above which may progress you into careers such as a Data Scientist.

Higher education as UCAS points have been awarded to T-Levels, they facilitate progression to Higher Education on a wide range of digitally related degrees such as Computer Information Systems.
