Our Amazing Maths Students Exceed Expectations Again!

The UKMT Senior Maths Challenge is a national competition which is designed to challenge A Level students.

Each year Cardinal Newman College enters the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, which sees us competing with around 2000 other institutions from around the world. The Senior Maths Challenge is aimed at all 16 – 19 year olds studying Mathematics. It involves answering 25 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes and takes place in College under normal exam conditions.

As always, our students exceeded expectations and this year 9 of our students were awarded Gold. As the challenge is open to schools and colleges all over the world, our students were competing against students from countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and China. They were also competing against students who are currently studying at Eton, Westminster School and Winchester College.

All students involved were award a certificate to mark their achievement, which were awarded by the College Principal, Nick Burnham, along with a selection box!
