Higher Education at Cardinal Newman College
Starting September 2015, Cardinal Newman College will be offering foundation courses in Early Years and Teaching & Learning Support. Both of the foundation degrees will be accredited by Middlesex University. The foundation degrees are a qualification that represent the first two years of an honours degree programme which can be completed with a further year of study at Middlesex University or Edge Hill University.
The Early Years Foundation Degree is designed for those who work, or want to work, with children from birth and the Teaching & Learning Support Foundation Degree is designed for those who work, or want to work, in education.
Course Leader Kathy Salisbury says “As Head of Department I am really excited about the prospect of increasing our current course offer in Health and Social Care from September 2015. We are a highly successful department with outstanding results and pastoral care, our courses are extremely popular with students who do exceptionally well and progress into some of the most admirable careers. Therefore I am delighted that we will have the opportunity to work with and support more students some of whom may never have thought they would study to degree level with Foundation Degrees that are now so popular with employers’,
The College already runs an Art Foundation degree and a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree in partnership with UCLAN for current students to progress and continue their studies at Newman for a third year.
