Glow in the Dark Guild Wheel Walk

Travel and Tourism students Chloe Collins (Longridge High School) and Holly Rhodes (Ashton Community Science and Technology College) are holding a fundraising event to raise money for the Oncology Ward at Manchester Children’s Hospital.

They will be raising money by walking around the Guild Wheel in Preston in fancy dress on Tuesday 7th April, starting at 5.30pm. The group will meet at Wolseley Road near the River Ribble and finish at Merry Trees Lane in Cottam. The guild wheel is 21 miles but they aim to do 10 miles in total so that as many people as possible can get involved and contribute in any way they can.

Fundraiser Chloe said: “We want as many people to be involved as possible as it is for a really good cause. We’ve contacted Manchester Children’s Hospital to let them know what we are doing and they have sent through lots of fundraising ideas and tips to help donate to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity.”

“We’ve chosen to do the walk in fancy dress to make it unique, we would like everyone to wear glow in the dark items as well to make us stand out while we are walking.”

The money they raise will be used to help pay for treatment for children suffering from cancer. If you are wishing to get involved, please contact the College on admissions@cardinalnewman.ac.uk for more information or you can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/GuildWheelWalk
