Glasgow Trip for Art Students

35 Art students went on a fantastic trip to Glasgow at the end of January. The students who all study the BTEC in Art & Design did a whistle stop tour of some of Glasgow’s most famous sights to reinforce their studies and help generate ideas for future projects.

The day started with a trip to the Hunterian Museums, which feature anatomical and zoological exhibits and then got the chance to explore the stunning Mackintosh House, which was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1906.

The group then headed off to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, where they were able to view the artwork of Alphonse Mucha in the acclaimed exhibition “In Quest of Beauty”.

It was a busy and jam-packed day for the students and staff but the students all came away feeling inspired and raring to get back to college to work on their own projects.
