Our Foundation Degrees – One Year On!

It’s been a fantastic first year for our Foundation Degrees in Early Years and Teaching & Learning Support at Cardinal Newman.

As the academic year approaches its finale, we’re taking a look back on how the first year has gone…

Both courses on offer, Teaching & Learning Support and Early Years, are aimed at enabling students to kick start a career working with children or improve the career prospects of those already working in this field. Studied on a part-time basis, they are ideal for people who want to continue to work whilst learning.

The courses have attracted a wide range of people from all backgrounds, from those who have just completed a Level 3 BTEC course, to those who have been out of education for 20 years! Our Foundation Degrees are designed to be flexible to meet the needs of all of our learners, regardless of their circumstances or previous education experience.

Some of the things our students have said about their first year of study with us:

“The course content at Cardinal Newman really complimented my role as a TA and it has given me a deeper understanding. I would certainly recommend the course to others, it has great course content and is delivered by a super team.” – Deborah

“What advice would I give to people who are considering a Foundation Degree at Cardinal Newman? Do it – you won’t regret it!” – Rob

“The size of the classes here is great. You really get the feeling of 1-1 support from the tutors, who always have time for you.” – Annabelle

“I have always been interested in working with Children, so this proved a great opportunity to advance my career and my prospects within the field. The course has been thoroughly enjoyable, the teachers are supportive, I have gained some great experience and had fun at the same time.” – Rebecca

Our students are now looking ahead to the second year of their studies with a renewed sense of confidence after a successful first year.
