Fantastic Work Experience Opportunities

Students studying the Health & Social Care course at Cardinal Newman have a great opportunity to complete work placements at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Starting early January, the students have been completing a two-week placement, with 25-30 students being sent out each week, to a variety of placements throughout the Teaching Hospitals.

The students will be working alongside Health Care Assistants, helping to ease what is known as the winter pressure period. The placement will involve them working normal hospital shifts, either 7am – 3pm or 1pm – 9pm and providing an additional pair of hands where ever they are needed on the wards.

The students are mainly from year 12 but many Year 13 students have volunteered to gain vital additional work experience to help them boost their future careers.
