Enigma Project to Visit CNC!
Students and staff from the Maths Department at Cardinal Newman are in for a treat in the New Year as we will be receiving a special visit from the Enigma Project on 11th January.
The Enigma Project is a presentation followed by workshops and demonstrations of the fascinating history and mathematics behind codes and code breaking.
100 Maths students will start the day with a presentation from The Enigma Project, introducing students to cryptography, which is the science and mathematics of codes and code breaking. The presentation also includes a demonstration of a genuine WWII enigma machine! This will be followed by a day of code breaking workshops with five workshops taking place throughout the rest of the day giving students a chance to test their own code breaking skills!
Everyone in the Maths Department is really looking forward to this exciting event!
