Charity Christmas Decorations

Staff have been working hard on handmade ceramic Christmas decorations in an after College workshop run by the Art Department.

25 staff from departments across College created a variety of different ceramic shapes, which they then decorated using a variety of techniques. The decorations will go on sale during lunchtime on Thursday 15th December, with all proceeds going to the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) UK.

Sands offers support to anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby before, during or shortly after birth.  This support ranges from emotional support for the parents and other relatives, to information for parents, grandparents, siblings, or anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby.

Aimee Lawrenson, Vocational Coordinator for Art & Design said: “Our staff really enjoyed a festive evening making ceramic Christmas decorations to be sold for charity. I am really pleased with all the outcomes – the workshop was a real success!”
