Cambridge University Visit HE+
Cardinal Newman College is the North West hub for the Cambridge University HE+ Scheme. This means that around 400 of the most academically able students from across the region converge here at the College regularly for HE+ sessions, which this time involved guest speakers from Newnham College Cambridge University.
Admissions Tutor, Dr Sam Lucy, spoke about the value of the HE+ Scheme when applying to any prestigious university, not just to Cambridge. There were also six academics from the university here as part of the day who were offering masterclasses in their subject area, which ranged from Engineering, Psychology, Political Science, History, Medieval Languages and Biotechnology.
As part of the HE+ Scheme, 80 students, 40 of whom are from Newman, will have the opportunity to visit Cambridge University in September for a residential trip. They will stay over at the university and take part in more masterclasses to give them a true picture of what studying at Cambridge might be like.
