Brand New Building for T-Levels Coming Soon!
A brand-new state-of-the-art building is in its final stages of development at Cardinal Newman. The building which is designed to house the College’s T-Level offering, is due to be completed in June 2021, ready for the new intake of students in September.
The building which will be named the St John Newman Building is positioned opposite the St Mary Building, on Carr Street and is set over three floors, it will provide a high-quality learning environment, with industry standard learning spaces including eleven new teaching spaces, staff offices, an open learning area, small group rooms and support space.
Newman is proud to be one of the first College’s offering the new T-Level qualifications, having started offering a Digital T-Level and Education & Childcare T-Level in September 2020 with more T-Levels planned to be added this coming September.
T-Levels are a two-year technical qualification, which have been co-designed with employers to give young people the skills that are needed within their chosen industry, ensuring they are work place ready. They are a revolution in technical education and Cardinal Newman is one of only 50 College’s across the UK who have been selected to offer these qualifications.
The T-levels provide a mixture of technical knowledge and skills and an industry placement of at least 45 days within the chosen industry setting. These placements will be timetabled into the two years of study and allow students to have a well-rounded understanding of the industry that they are entering into. We also work closely with employers to support them with the projects and tasks that students take part in during their placement, to ensure they are getting the best, hands on experience possible. From September 2021 we will be offering T-Levels in Digital, Education & Childcare, Health and Science.
