We caught up with two former Health & Social Care students, who are currently working towards their goals of becoming nurses. Read on to find out more about their stories…
Olivia Jones started at Cardinal Newman College in 2014 studying a Level 2 BTEC in Health and Social Care alongside resits in her GCSE English and Maths. Fast forward three years and she had not only completed a BTEC National Extended Diploma in Health and Social but done so with flying colours! After gaining a D*D*D*, Olivia then secured a place at UCLan studying Children’s Nursing, where she is just finishing up her final year of studies.
We chatted with Olivia, to find out more about what she has been up to since leaving Cardinal Newman, and also chatted about how the COVID 19 outbreak has been affecting her work. Read it all here >>
Grace Nisbet started at Cardinal Newman in 2015, studying a BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care alongside a GCSE resit in Maths. After two years of hard work, Grace secured herself a triple D* and grade C in Maths, before heading off to The University of Manchester to study Adult Nursing.

Sophie Fenton left ST Bede’s in Lytham in 2015 to join Cardinal Newman College, where she studied a BTEC Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care, with the dream of becoming a Midwife. She left Cardinal Newman in 2017 with D*D*D* and headed off for a Midwifery Degree at Edge Hill University, where we caught up with her to find out what she has been up to here >>
Kia St.John-Morne joined Cardinal Newman in 2015 from Broughton High School. Se began by studying A-Levels in Psychology and PE alongside a BTEC in Health and Social Care but decided to switch to study an Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care earning herself a D*D*D*!
