The application process for School Direct with us is divided into two phases: Apply 1 and Apply 2.
Apply 1: All students must use the Apply 1 route first. Prospective students can apply online for up to three courses starting in academic year 2017/18 through Apply 1. If you are unsuccessful via this route, then you have the option to try again via Apply 2.
Apply 2: If you apply through Apply 1 but you aren’t offered a place, or you decline all the offers you receive, you can make an application for new choices through Apply 2. However, in Apply 2, you are restricted to one choice at a time.
Programmes may shut at different times throughout the application cycle. However, all courses available through UCAS Teacher Training must accept all applications for a minimum period of two weeks after opening.
After this two-week period, if a sufficient number of applications have been received, the course may stop accepting any more submissions.
Also subjects that are oversubscribed nationally such as PE and History can be shut once national recruitment targets have been reached.
Therefore, an early application, ideally in the first few weeks, is advised for all subjects and is essential in subjects where there is a great deal of competition for places.
Apply online through UCAS Teacher Training at www.ucas.com/apply/teacher-training from the 18th October 2016.
