Eight steps to studying at Cardinal Newman for 2017 Entry…

Step One: NOW: Do Your Research!

Pick up a copy of the College prospectus from school or download it from the College website and get reading. You can also find more details about all of the courses we offer at Newman right here.

Step Two: October 2016 – February 2017: Visit Us!

Open events at the College start in October. Make sure you visit us on one – it is a great way to find out what Newman has to offer. Our open events are:

Saturday 1st October 10am – 2pm
Monday 24th October 5pm – 8pm
Thursday 17th November 5pm – 8pm
Thursday 2nd February 5pm – 8pm

Step Three: October 2016 – February 2017: Apply!

Applications to Cardinal Newman open in October. You can apply online here. Simply click on the ‘Apply’ tab and follow the instructions. The application deadline is February 10th 2017 – so make sure yours is in on time! Any application received after the 10th February may be considered for interview.

Step Four: January – March 2017: Interviews

Interviews will take place at College between January and March and are the first chance the College will have to meet you, so it is important to be prompt, enthusiastic and smart.

Step Five: February – April 2017: Accept Your Place

If you were successful, after your interview you will receive a conditional offer letter. You need to log into ‘Newman Apply’ (details of how to do this will be in your offer letter) and accept your place at Cardinal Newman! You must do this within two weeks of receiving your offer letter.

Step Six: 4th July 2017 – Newman Festival

Once you have accepted your place at Cardinal Newman, you will be invited to attend Newman Festival on 4th July. It is a chance for you to test-drive the subjects that you have applied for, and it will be like your first day at Newman. You will meet the teachers, some of your classmates and learn all about the exciting opportunities available to you once you have enrolled!

Step Seven: August 2017: Enrol at Cardinal Newman

If you have accepted your place, you will receive a letter during the summer term with your enrolment date and time. GCSE results will be out on Thursday 24th August 2017 and enrolment will take place from 24th – 25th August 2017.

Step Eight: September 2017: Start at Cardinal Newman!

September is here an the time has finally arrived for you to start at Newman! Don’t be nervous, everyone is really friendly and we will try out best to make you feel at home.
